Linear Low Density Polyethylene

LLDPE is a soft polyethylene produced under high pressure. It combines properties of both LDPE and HDPE, making it an intermediate form between these two types of polyethylene. It is mainly used for the production of stretch films. It is highly tough, maintains its shape well, and has excellent puncture resistance. Other characteristics include very good weather and moisture resistance, extreme stretchability, and tear resistance. The film is somewhat more opaque compared to LDPE. It can be processed into very thin films and can be easily colored.

LLDPE does not have its own recycling code, so no recycling symbol is printed on these films. Unlike other polyethylene films, LLDPE is difficult to print. It is used only as a blend to improve film properties according to customer requirements.

Chemical Resistance:

• Resistant to water, dilute acids, alkalis, inorganic solutions, solvents, alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and gasoline.
• Not resistant to strong acids, oxidizing agents, oxidizing acids, esters, ketones, as well as aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

• Meets food handling guidelines

Applications: Approximately 80% of LLDPE is mixed with LDPE and HDPE to enhance mechanical and thermal properties. It is used for food packaging and other film products (packaging). It is also used in extrusion coating applications, mainly for paper and cardboard packaging.
