Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Polyvinylchlorid (PVC)
Polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC or vinyl, is the third most commonly used plastic after polyethylene and polypropylene. Vinyl is versatile, durable, economical, and easy to process, which makes it highly popular across all markets and industries. PVC is an amorphous, non-hygroscopic material used in extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding. PVC is produced in two forms: rigid PVC, an unplasticized polymer known as vinyl, and flexible PVC, which is made by adding plasticizers to create a softer, more flexible, or rubber-like material.
