Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)
ABS
Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) is a hygroscopic, opaque, amorphous thermoplastic that is ideal for injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion molding (for deep drawing/thermoforming). A low melting temperature and low production costs make ABS ideal for many processing methods.
ABS can be modified with acrylonitrile to ensure chemical resistance, with butadiene to achieve toughness and impact resistance, and with styrene to improve rigidity and processing properties.
